Presenting – Itec Midlands
Itec opens PMB office as part of Midlands expansion plans
Managed services provider Itec has opened a new office in Pietermaritzburg as part of an ambitious plan to expand its business support footprint across South Africa.
The new branch, to operate as Itec Midlands forms a key part of Itec’s plans to grow within the local government vertical in the region, said Itec Newcastle director Ronnie Naidoo. The expansion further supports Itec Newcastle’s established customer base in the PMB area and the KZN province at large.
“We see huge growth potential in the Midlands and have a clear vision of what we want to achieve in the region. Most government departments have offices in Pietermaritzburg, so it just makes sense for us to have a presence there. There are also a lot of big schools in the area, and the education sector is a major focus for us,” said Naidoo.
Naidoo believes there will be a ready market for Itec’s range of IT products and services. These include the ability to take advantage of Itec’s tier 1 Telco provider status to provide better rates and more competitive offerings, and a range of best-of-breed product and service brands like Mitel, which provides telecommunications solutions to companies of all sizes and across all sectors.
Itec Newcastle has established itself as a household name in the community since being founded 27 years ago, with a reputation for exemplary personal service. This saw the company win an Itec-wide competition to reach its sales targets during the Covid-19 lockdown, beating 51 other Itec branches in far bigger centres in the process.
“Covid-19 was really tough for business, but what we really did well was to keep pushing and never stop working, even when working from home. We had technicians attending to calls throughout lockdown, and sales staff working hard. Our work ethic didn’t drop. That’s a testament to our staff, who have the willingness and passion to grow with us,” said Naidoo.
Itec executive director Gavin Meyer said the new office was an important part of Itec’s growth strategy in the region. “Ronnie Naidoo and his team have built an outstanding business over the years, and their desire to grow fits in exactly with our vision. I’m convinced this new venture will see them delivering genuine value-add to an even wider range of customers than before,” said Meyer.
