Take us through a typical day at work and what your role entails

I am an ISA Stock Controller at our warehouse where we process all orders i.e. OA, PBX, CCTV, Consumables and Spares for Partners and Dealers. Orders are received either via Dynamics or manually from our dealers. We then confirm if we do have stock for that respective order and if we don’t, we place the order with our Procurement Department.
Once invoiced, our warehouse will pick, pack and ready the stock for collection by the respective dealer, partner and/or courier company. In between that we update dealers on ETA’s and advise on pricing and availability. I believe that our department is the heartbeat of Itec, this is where it all happens.

What are some of the challenges and most satisfying aspects of working at Itec Group?

Everything needs to have happened yesterday but in 5 minutes today… Our department excels in making miracles happen.

Tell us about the Itec work culture and people – what stands out for you?

I believe that in our department we have each other’s backs. We are multiskilled, and everybody is willing to step in and assist and help where needed. Nothing is too big or too hard in order for us to help each other.

What habits do you follow consistently to excel at what you do?

Find what works for you and then refine it to suit your working environment. I make To-Do Lists and tick off my tasks as I complete them. And nothing will happen without a cup of coffee and cake! We love cake…Don’t ask questions.

I have been married for 17 years to my best friend and have been blessed with two beautiful children who keep me on my toes.

What is your life motto?

Say what you mean and mean what you say.

Favourite pass time?

Spending time with my family and friends, be it at my home where we are having a braai or just a coffee.

Do you have any hobbies?

I love reading…I’m a real bookworm. In addition, I also like playing around with make-up and nails, in fact when I do get the chance to I watch YouTube videos, I like to follow beauty tutorials and then try them out myself. The girls in the office though do see my epic fails…
