JOB DESCRIPTION

Meter Readings
• Capture next day collections from the daily delivery/collection sheet
published by logistics on the “expected daily deliveries to workshop”
spreadsheet on the T-drive;
• 1st step in collecting readings;
• Encrypt HDD as per security procedure;
• Format HDD – Physical and Logical;
• Manage meter reading collection of all UG/EOC;
• Ensure all readings are scanned in and capture relevant data on the
“expected daily deliveries to workshop”;
• The “expected daily deliveries to workshop” is a live report that MUST
be updated daily;
• All readings must be gathered, captured and sent, by no later than
10h00 daily;
• Logistics will confirm readings and will authorize machine/s to be
pushed through to workshop;
Assessments
• All units received into the workshop must be assessed visually;
• Overall condition;
• Click life;
• Yields;
• Visual assessment will determine in which category the unit will fall
under;
• (refurb, loan, cannibalize and scrap);
Refurbishments
• Collect meter reading page and email contacts and logistics, request
the following:
• Contracts – Advise if device have an active contract – If not, then for
device to be loaded onto the refurb account (this will allow you to order
spares for the unit without any delays);
• Logistics – Advise if device belongs to customer/MPS/storage;
• If all is clear, allocate unit to a workshop assistant that must take
ownership of refurbing the device;
• Workshop assistant MUST open a call immediately on “product
support” time stamping the refurb process;
• Manage progress of refurb;
• Gathering information;
• Checking management list, jam/trouble counters;
• Verifying consumables;
• Capture spares that needs replacing and send to line manager for
approval;
• Active monitoring of spares ETA’s;
• Spares approval;
• Creation of SO (Kimberly);
• Verifying order/s;
• Stock controllers;
• Back orders;
• Spares must be allocated to device;
• Oversee parts replacements;
• Manage Quality/Stress Check;
• Complete and file necessary paperwork;
• Managing of refurb pool;
Loans
• Only a signed Loan/Demo request with customer ID, can kick off loan
process;

• Gathering information;

approval;
• Active monitoring of spares ETA’s;
• Spares approval;
• Creation of SO (Kimberly);
• Verifying order/s;
• Stock controllers;

• Contracts will load and release;
• Logistics will create delivery note;

Cannibalization
• Manage cannibalization devices;
• Ensure all parts cannibalized has a paper trail, call logged and spares
supplied sheet is updated daily;
• Fully cannibalized devices need to be scrapped;
Scrap
• Manage collection of all serial numbers and reason for scrapping
device;
• Arrange collection of scrap;
Training
• Manage career path for workshop assistants;
• Manage and drive training to ensure that goals are achieved within the
set criteria;
Reporting
• Manage and maintain inventory;
• Manage Product Support calls for workshop;
• Ensure calls are closed on time and all relevant data have been
entered;
• Monthly report to line manager no later than the 5th of every month;
• Inventory (workshop and holding cage);
• Parts usage;
• Loans supplied;
• Refurbs supplied;
• Loan/refurb pool;
Managing
• Manage daily operations;
• Daily/weekly strategy meetings;
• Ensure all processes are followed at all times;
• Manage workshop assistant’s daily workload;
• Strictly manage and uphold workshop rules (No technician allowed at
any time in the workshop. Supervisors are allowed with the assistance
of a workshop assistant);
• Manage time and attendance (lunch hours);
• Effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders;
• Manage workshop tools and weekly audits;
• Manage refurb/loan pool on extra net;
• Manage and maintain ongoing projects (Durban, Mozambique).
